Get to know us - Dr Anna Hovris

At our practice in Oxford Circus (W1W), all of our therapists are qualified psychologists, psychotherapists or counsellors. They are registered with several professional bodies, including the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), the British Psychological Society (BPS), as well as, BACP, UKCP and BABCP. They use CBT (Cognitive behavioral therapy), psychodynamic, humanistic and integrative approaches, tailored around your needs to help you deal with your challenges and reach your goals.

Anna is a passionate, creative and experienced psychologist, who supports people with a variety of mental health, emotional and behavioural difficulties, those who experience a loss of meaning in their lives, or those who are seeking a greater sense of fulfilment.

Anna is continuously looking to offer and expand her clinical skills and competencies through working with a range of mental health issues and variety of client groups within multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural settings. She is HCPC Registered and has achieved BPS chartered Psychology status.

Anna has gained clinical experience in previous years of working within a variety of settings. More recently, she was an integral part of Thurrock Mind and her Team was honoured with the Queen’s Award for voluntary service. Over the last 9 years, Anna has provided psychological interventions to adults (18 years of age +) with depression, mood disorders, anxiety-related disorders, PTSD, unresolved trauma, and eating disorders, used a range of delivery methods, such as face-to-face, telephone and web-based support, assessed clients’ suitability for psychological interventions (e.g. CBT, CAT, CFT and ACT), and discussed therapy plans with clients, focusing on areas they want to change.

You can expect one hundred percent transparency and authenticity when working with Anna. Anna is driven by her values and innate desire to make a difference to peoples’ lives. Anna’s own personal experiences have gifted her with the ability to look beyond just behaviours and unearth the real sources of the problems. Anna speaks three languages, French, Green and English. When she is free, she loves spending time with her family and friends. Anna also loves writing poems around mental health and has a strong research interest in lone parenthood and mental health, as well as mental health in schools.
